I was recently invited to an out of town wedding shower, however I am unable to attend. Am I still supposed to send a gift to the bride and groom?

Lovely that you were invited to the wedding shower, and I'm sure they will miss you dearly. Your instincts are spot on, as protocol kindly calls for guests to send a gift to a shower (or wedding) they have so graciously been invited to, even if they are unable to attend. Check the future Mr. and Mrs. registries - perhaps Williams-Sonoma or Neiman Marcus - as they will have the cooing couple's address on file and can ship your perfect present straight to their door!
