I recently loaned a pair of earrings to a close friend, however she has yet to return them. It's been nearly a month, and I would like to wear the earrings to an upcoming event, but wasn't sure if it was appropriate to ask for the earrings back?

My radiant gem! If your friend hasn't returned the goods within a reasonable amount of a time (ideally days, or within a week of borrowing the item) it's perfectly acceptable to politely request your baubles be returned. Life is so busy these days, it probably slipped her mind! Here's my advice: Let your friend know you'd love to wear the earrings to your upcoming event and kindly ask if you can either pick them up or if she can drop them off next week and I'm sure she will be much obliged.
