Baby Girl Shower

This past weekend, my girlfriends and I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for our dear friend and mother-to-be, and oh what fun we had! A baby girl shower, we infused a rainbow of enchanting pinks into every detail of the sweet bébé soirée, celebrating sugar, spice, and everything nice! Here are the details and inspiration for any baby showers you might be planning. Enjoy!

VENUE
Since we had an intimately sized group, we decided to host the shower at my home, which I adored! We set up the sweet and savory goodies in the dining room, drink station in the bar, and then transitioned to the den to open presents. Quick tip: be sure to have someone write down each gift so the mother-to-be can pen her thank you notes.

INVITES
We chose darling pink invitations, and kindly asked each guest to bring a book so at the end of the shower, our dear friend would have a treasure trove of stories to read to her baby girl.

MENU
Calling on the oh-so talented Cynthia with Cafe Danielle, we opted for tea-inspired fare that the ladies enjoyed to the very last bite! Since the shower was held from 10am-12pm, we decided to  serve brunch treats, including assorted tea sandwiches; scones and jam; mini banana bread cakes bejeweled with blueberries; pears studded with brie, honey and walnuts; petit fours, and iced cookies. As for libations, we served mimosas (virgin mimosas, aka fresh orange juice!), iced tea, and ice water. I also used a white Williams-Sonoma table cloth and variety of Juliska serveware, including cake standsoval platters, and a silver tiered stand

FLOWERS
As you all know, I love love love flowers, and so I had the honor of creating arrangements for the shower. Inspired by the vibrant range of pinks coupled with crisp white, I created four arrangements: a tall arrangement for the dining room table, a medium sized arrangement for the coffee table in the den, and two small arrangements for the bar and library table. I used
pink tulips with white tips, light pink cabbage roses, white hydrangeas, white stock, and hot pink baroness garden roses.

DETAILS
Details make any event one to remember, and so we incorporated several special touches into the shower, including pink and white striped straws; pink and white napkins with scalloped trim; "baby predictions" sheets so guests could leave the mother-to-be with heartfelt wishes; and of course a coo-worthy onesie banner - a banner of onesies (one for each month of the baby's first year) adorned with a pink and white number sticker so our dear friend can capture a photo of her little one each month.

FAVORS
At the end of the shower, guests were given a light and dark pink monogrammed iced cookie - perfection!
