Monogram Etiquette

Since I was a little girl, I have adored the art of monogramming. From monogrammed frilly white bloomers as a tiny tot, to monogrammed white bedding in my home today, proudly embroidering and engraving initials on my personal goods brings me such happiness. Not to mention when you become a Mrs. and receive a whole new set of gorgeous initials – I just squeal with joy at the thought!

However before you go monogram crazy, there are some rules of the etiquette road. Here is everything you need to know about monogramming!

WHAT CAN BE MONOGRAMMED?
Virtually anything can be monogrammed (or engraved in the case of metal, glass, etc.), and make fabulous personal treasures as well as gifts for others. This includes: table linens, bedding, towels, purses and luggage, pillows, fine china, clothing, jewelry, glassware, picture frames, and the list goes on. Also, many retailers (Neiman Marcus, Graphic Image, iomoi, Mark and Graham, Madison, etc.) offer fabulous monogramming services which make things oh-so convenient! In cases where you purchase a little treat - say some lovely linens - and the retailer doesn't offer monogramming, do some research as there is sure to be a local monogram shop that will transform the ordinary into the extraordinary! Here are some of my favorite monogrammed goods:

1. iomoi monogrammed canvas travel bags; 2. Louis Vuitton monogrammed Neverfull; 3. Neiman Marcus monogrammed towels; Monogram Inc. monogrammed napkins; BaubleBar monogrammed Necklace; Graphic Image monogrammed journal
